Your signature
Best path: replace the signature file directly. Pasting into Apple Mail's Signatures pane usually drops your image on send — this avoids that.
- Open Mail → Settings → Signatures. Click + on your account and name it something memorable (e.g. Plum). Type any placeholder text and quit Mail completely (⌘Q).
- Click Download .html above.
- In Finder, press ⇧⌘G and paste:
~/Library/Mail/V10/MailData/Signatures(try V9 or V11 if V10 is missing). - Find the newest
.mailsignaturefile (sort by Date Modified). Right-click → Get Info → check Locked off. - Open it in TextEdit. Keep the top header lines (Content-Transfer-Encoding, Mime-Version, etc.) and replace everything below the blank line with the contents of your downloaded
signature.html. Save. - Lock the file again (Get Info → Locked). Reopen Mail — your signature is in place.
If the file-swap feels heavy, "Copy rendered" → paste into the Signatures box works for previewing, but Mail will strip the photo when you actually send.
