Your signature

Best path: replace the signature file directly. Pasting into Apple Mail's Signatures pane usually drops your image on send — this avoids that.

  1. Open Mail → SettingsSignatures. Click + on your account and name it something memorable (e.g. Plum). Type any placeholder text and quit Mail completely (⌘Q).
  2. Click Download .html above.
  3. In Finder, press ⇧⌘G and paste:
    ~/Library/Mail/V10/MailData/Signatures (try V9 or V11 if V10 is missing).
  4. Find the newest .mailsignature file (sort by Date Modified). Right-click → Get Info → check Locked off.
  5. Open it in TextEdit. Keep the top header lines (Content-Transfer-Encoding, Mime-Version, etc.) and replace everything below the blank line with the contents of your downloaded signature.html. Save.
  6. Lock the file again (Get Info → Locked). Reopen Mail — your signature is in place.

If the file-swap feels heavy, "Copy rendered" → paste into the Signatures box works for previewing, but Mail will strip the photo when you actually send.
